Our Background.
Sandflats are coastal ecosystems where sea and land come together. Mangrove trees thrive in salty conditions; their roots pierce the sand to breathe when exposed then rest when submerged.
This dynamic natural environment provides a breeding ground for fish, birds and crustaceans, reduces erosion and maintains water quality. Yet despite this constant turmoil, sandflats are a peaceful and attractive. These are qualities, we’d like to reflect; diverse, protective and dynamic. Investment markets are also thriving ecosystems where threats and opportunities abound.
We believe that Strategic Asset Allocation (SAA) is the cornerstone of the industry but it has limits and that a Total Portfolio Approach expands SAA by employing dynamic asset allocation. It is in this environment, that we believe it is vital to Be Dynamic!
About David Cohen.
Our founder, David Cohen, grew up in Grays Point in the Sutherland Shire of New South Wales. There he lived close to the sandflats and spent countless hours immersed in nature for rest, relaxation and play. He was particularly captivated by the flourishing animal life and the durability of the mangrove trees.
David has over 20 years’ experience in the investment industry in Sydney and London. His background encompasses investment management and consulting roles in multi-sector portfolio management. He is both a CFA and CAIA Charterholder and has a Masters in Applied Finance. He has worked in small businesses and for global institutions including Capital International and Avivia Investors. He is a keen skiier and runner and generally a sports fan.
